Adventure in Costa Rica - Samantha Kohn

Rehearsal dinners are generally the time for out-of- Adventure in Costa Rica, Events & Weddings Costa Rica town guests and family to mingle and give toasts (or roasts) about the bride and the groom. My version of the ‘adventure’ rehearsal dinner is a little bit different. But then again, so is getting married in this tropical paradise known as Costa Rica. This is the time to let loose, bring in the mariachis, ‘gallo pinto’ ( rice and beans) and swing through the jungle!

The afternoon can start off with a casual walk through the rainforest, where snakes (in cages), birds, butterflies and a wide variety of tropical flowers can be found. Then the fun starts – the canopy tour, what has put Costa Rica on the map as an adventure spot.

For those guests who do not want to swing through the Adventure in Costa Rica, Events & Weddings Costa Rica jungle like Tarzan, they can still enjoy the view of the tropical jungle via an aerial tram. Spottings of exotic birds and monkeys are not uncommon.

After the adrenaline wears off, guests munch on typical food to the beat of the marimba group playing in the background. Perhaps typical dancers will come to show some local traditions, or a mariachi band will perform at the end of the night, a tradition in Costa Rica. ‘Adventure’ rehearsal dinners are not only casual and fun but also enable guests to have a taste of the local music, food, culture and of course, adventure.

How to Help your Guests
Feel Welcome -
Rev. Judy Winkler
Continued from page 1 ...

A greeter is the perfect role for someone who is not in the wedding party but someone who can wear a beautiful gown, a tuxedo/suit and feels their role is important, which it is.

The most thoughtful couples I’ve seen in my 24 years of service, have a greeter or two who set a tone of graciousness as people arrive. I’ve seen greeters beam as they welcome guests, knowing that they are doing a job of honor.

What is most needed is a greeter – someone assigned to physically stand at the entrance to welcome wedding guests, then direct them to sign in or usher them to the waiting area or gift table or to their seats.
