A
Professional Insight on Wedding Entertainment
by Keith Danon, Music As You Like It
Being
in the entertainment business for 33 years, I've seen the trends
change. Up until the 1950's, live entertainment ruled the wedding
world.
The sock-hop disc jockeys began to offer their services as mobile
disc jockeys during that time. The formats have changed from
records, tapes, CDs, and now i-pods and computers.
Spectacular light shows now enhance the presentation with up to
3 disc jockeys at an event and acting as a master of ceremonies.
In the early 1990's, live bands came back into
favor. Still today the live performer is overwhelmingly requested
for the ceremony. If
it's a bagpiper, a keyboardist, a trio, harp, or heralding trumpets,
brides love that "Live Sound".
These days we get more requests for novelty acts such as a walk
around magician, a luau theme with Hawaiian interactive dancers
to get
the crowd moving. Any new ideas that would make their ceremony
or reception a memorable one.
