Aloha From Hawaii

Meet Grace & Mona
By Weddings by Grace and Mona.

You could say that wedding planers Grace Chang and Mona Hirata were destined for their careers. Grace and Mona met in the seventh grade where their “planning” experience all began. Throughout intermediate and high school, they were in the student government together and planned school dances, concerts, wrote in the newspaper and volunteered with the peer-counseling program. Little did they realize that 20 years later, still friends, they would continue to be at it – planning – but for a different kind of audience: brides and grooms.

Grace and Mona both have a professional background in special event planning and wedding coordination. Grace also has a previous background in grant writing, and Mona worked as the catering director at a boutique hotel in Waikiki. Weddings by Grace and Mona provide limitless possibilities of wedding consultation and coordination services. Couples can choose from various services which include, assisting in creating a unique theme, selecting a site, setting up appointments, arranging vendors, picking the perfect favors and centerpieces, and coordinating pre-wedding and post-wedding activities, to name a few. Weddings by Grace and Mona get booked as far as two and a half years in advance and you may view their website at www.mgweddingshawaii.com.

Aaah … Spring Time
Wedding Plans

By Continental Catering, San Diego

The perfumed breeze carries with it an aroma of freshly blossoming flowers, whispering green foliage and the sweet song of excited little birds ... what a lovely season. And what a perfect time to celebrate your engagement!

Just as Springtime welcomes the arrival of the warm seasons and the rebirth of much of our environmental surroundings, a Springtime Wedding bears the life of a new marriage.

On this note, it is important to dress this special occasion with the element of happiness in mind, which means utilizing fun, colorful and sparkling décor. Here are some tips from the pros at Continental Catering in San Diego, California, for designing a Springtime Wedding bound to be boasting with smiles and cheer.

Happy colors are IN this time of year. Canary
yellow, grass green, robust red, fantastic fuchsia! Don’t be afraid to go bold – show your guests how happy you truly feel!
Extravagant isn’t always the way to go. Clean and simple can be just as inviting. For example, instead of using an elaborate bouquet of flowers as centerpieces, how about placing a potted plant “sprouting” with a few pictures of you and your fiancé on every table. This gives your guests memories to reminisce and joyfully chat about.

Lighting best sets the mood. How about splashing multi-colored lighting around your venue. Remember, don’t be afraid to go beautifully bold. This is a fun way to create excitement amongst your guests and even get the dance floor rocking and rolling!
