E. Book your DJ as far in advance as possible. Get a written contract that specifies time frame, the cost, deposit, the dj's requirement, such as power needs and set-up space needed. Try to meet with the DJ who will be at your wedding. Also, what will be the plan if the dj couldn't make it? It can happen.

F. Plan for an appropriate area where the DJ will set up at the event. If the event is outdoors, plan for inclement weather or excessive sun.

G. Select the right music for the occasion as well as for ambience. The apropriate music sets the mood.

H. Introduce the DJ to other hired vendors prior to the wedding date, expecially if they are to be responsible for other areas of your entertainment - s uch as emcee, audiovisual tech (with slide show presentation) etc. This will allow them to plan effectively.

I. Provide the DJ with a complete list of schedule events for the day (Event Time Line). This will allow him to be fully aware of what will take place and when throughout the event.
