Carat:
The standard unit of weight used for gemstones is a carat.
One carat equals .200 grams (or 200 milligrams).
Usually abbreviated ct.
A diamond is measured by weight and is done in carats
and there are 100 points in a carat.
For example: a 2ct. weight diamond had 200 points and weight 400 milligrams.
