- Determine the style, material and color you would
like
- Start shopping early at least 6 to 9 months prior
to wedding
- Check out the trunk shows for the latest styles
- Make appointments at with bridal salons, this way
you will have their undivided attention
- Keep notes of your experience and what you thought
of the dresses you tried on. This will come in handy if you visit more
than a few salons.
- Bring only one or two other people with you when
shopping
- Make sure you know how the dress is bustled
- Ask about additional charges for alterations if needed
and the time frame to completion
- Gown cleaning and preservation considerations

- Select and order your gown
- Find a headpiece and veil
- Get shoes and hosiery, lingerie, garter and jewelry
- How and when you will pickup the gown

- Arrange for the dress to be taken cleaners and preservation after wedding
